The Link Map Diagram is a simple representation of a link map
The Green is the Link Worth, the Red is the Risk
The rest is self explanatory but remember the numbers relate to the page that the value has been applied to, the anchor text is the first anchor text found on the page that links to you, actually in our software this is a clickable link to a list of anchor text that is inbound from that page to your site.

Hope that helps :D

Thank you Tim for this most interesting post. I admit I have difficulties reading your graph : how do you explain (even roughly) the numbers in green and red areas according to the numbers of inbound links, outbound links, etc ? And what is the "number inbound" ?
Cheers,

Hi Julian, 600 is a pretty small site, indeed the more pages, the more data the more reliable the map comes. The largest site we have used this sort of analysis on was about 19k pages which resulted in several major architectural changes and a lot of nervous crossing of fingers. Really the technique is of less use with sites under 100 pages and few inbound links, where doing things by hand is almost quicker.

Sorry for the delay I had to drag your comment out of the spam bin

Tim,

Great breakdown of the various attributes of a link on any given page. I think if a link has any "worth" at all it is perhaps worth obtaining.
