Times they are a changing

So due to small misunderstanding timnash.me.uk seems to be dead in the water and well it was time for a change welcome to timnash.co.uk your new resource of everything me related. But why have a third blog well I intend to publish here the more geeky technical articles that were not suitable for Venture Skills blog or Payment Blogger as well as the more personal births, deaths and marriages stuff that bloggers traditionally interject their content with.

This blog will not replace the Venture Skills or Payment Blogger but be the third companion to them but what goals do I have for the site.

  • So If you are after Drupal information or social media and slightly fluffy SEO information Venture Skills Blog is the place.
  • Internet Marketing including Serch engine marketing and affiliate articles then Payment Blogger is the place which I write on with my blogging partner Nick
  • If you want a more gritty sarcastic search engine optimisation articles and the more in depth social media articles then your already in the right place

Of course there is nothing to stop you reading them all, and I hope you do ;) I will however keep the cross posting down to a minimum in the next week or so I will also be adding a new Feed which will combine the 3 sites for those who want the complete "Tim Nash" experience.

Ranking Goals

I'm a competitive person so I have set a few ambitious goals for keyword rankings nothing I don't think can be achieved but some which will take time get there. Here are my principle goals for rankings on Google;

Tim Nash - Probably obvious I lost my own name but sorry Google I want it back this shouldn't be hard after all nearly all of the first 50 results are related to me and a fair few I control so getting up the SERPs for this pair should be easy, of course nothing in life is easy and there is always the possibility of a Google slap.
Goal: page 1 position 1 or 2

SEO Consultant
- The first ambitious one in a very competitive market but the goal is not the number 1 spot rather within the first 2 SERPs in google.com and on the first page for .co.uk this should be tricky but achievable I hope you guys are going to be bowled over by content and linking to me left right and centre ;) well maybe you won't but then I will find another way.
Goal: .co.uk Page 1 .com Page 2

SEO Training, SEO Trainer and SEO Workshops - I love teaching and proving people with the skills they need to go and do the job so ranking for the various terms related to search engine optimisation teaching is of particular importance to me. Given that I'm based in the UK my aim is to rank for the terms within the first page of the results for .co.uk.
Goal .co.uk Page 1

SEO Blog - Another really toughie but again doable I'm aiming to rank for the term SEO Blog in the UK SERPs within the top 20 results and within the top 50 in google .com There is a lot of great competition for this result but while not aiming to high I think its certainly possible.
Goal .co.uk Page 1or2 .com 1-5

Personal Goals

This site is really a show off site I want it to rank well, who doesn't but I also want it to be a focus place for Search Engine Optimisers, a place where the marketers come and learn that SEO is not about snake skin products but has a science behind it not an art.
Some Personal goals for the site:

  • I want to dispel the myths of SEO
  • Push the creep of search engine marketing back to where it should be a separate discipline
  • Have a good time
  • Have a site people will want to return to

Thank you all for your continued support I hope that people enjoy the site and find it not only useful but practical as well, and in the words of Dylan

I liked the article on Psst Want to buy a liink. The title makes you want to read what it says. Nice job with that.

Good luck with your new site Tim. It is good to have ambitious – but of course rational – goals, as this is the only way to the top :)

BTW I couldn’t find a way to subscribe to your feed – except checking the source code of this page – so I guess you should put a button somewhere.

Well, I wish yoo good luck, but I guess you don’t need it as you have the expertise apparently. I love the colors btw.
You should not use Arial in white on black for headlines though as the anti-aliasing on Windows XP does not really work with it.
