Me I do things slightly differently, my workshops are either half or full days they are as hands on as I can make them, they include follow up questions and answers via email.

Introduction to search engine tinkering - £40pp

This course covers all the basics of search engine optimisation for a web developer it presumes that you are already familiar with HTML and basic server side scripting and takes it from their.

• Introduction to robots.txt, meta tags, .htaccess files
• Overview of Semantic Structure
• Linking strategies and use of rel attributes
• HTML tricks and tips
• Introduction to WAI guidelines and their relevance to SEO

Getting into the right search engines £55pp

This course covers aspects of how search engines vary both in terms of their algorithms and the sort of sites and information they search. The main aspect of the course is looking at Google Universal and Onebox and how to use Google Base to gain position within these search arenas, this course also covers geo-targetting both regional and local search engines. A good understanding of Web development familiarisation with XML and a basic understanding of search technologies is required for this course.

• Introduction to search engine algorithms (without maths!)
• Looking at how factors and ratings effect not only positions but which indices you appear in
• Regional and Country search, how to make your site "British" enough to appear in the UK SERPS
• Creating a local listing, and appearing on Google Maps
• How to deploy mobile versions of web sites and make sure they are crawled properly
• Dealing with feed based engines and cover the basic of XML feeds
• Introduction to Google Base, Google Product search and the One Box

Advanced SEO Programming £150pp

This course is designed for people who are looking for a challenge, its aimed at technologists and engineers who want to go deep into how Search engines work, and how to design sites for them. Those wishing to take this course should be aware a small amount of maths is involved including quadratics and matrices if that scares you this course is not for you.
The course includes:

• Building and taking to bits of a simple search engine
• Server side scripting, bots, content generation,redirects,cloaking
• Server configurations, htaccess
• look at both the light and dark side of search marketing
• beer and geek talk

This course is a full day, and end's in a local pub for dinner and further discussion and talks its pretty intensive but I hope well worth the slightly hire price (which includes the meal at the pub in the price) and is available for groups of more then 3, no discounts or hourly rate I'm afraid.
