When your website vanishes and panic creeps in its easy to start imagining Google has completely banned your domain but such events are rare.
To check if you are banned a simple test is to do the following 3 steps
- Go to Google and put in the full domain name and see if any results appear
- Go to Google and use the site: command and see if results appear
- Go to Google and use the link command
If the first two return no result but the third does then your site is most likely banned. You may wish to also check the Webmaster console, to do so verify your site, then check for messages on the main page this is in theory the location Google will tell you of any penalties against the site.
Handy Hint
If you have not yet verified your site and you suspect a problem, use a separate Google account from your main one containing other sites for extra paranoia log into that account via proxy when dealing with Google.
